forest haiku

i think sometimes people can promise us things, and then break those promises without meaning to. so the smallest thing can seem to be a promise to you, but not to them. and i thought about the image of a thick forest, how the lightest snow can touch the leaves and fall away while the forest grows wild and dark underneath. 
(i wrote this in april i think) (it's not a great example of a haiku but i was just playing with the form)
